Glad to see that you're here!
I'm also suffering from a problem that I can't make myself do anything that I don't feel like I can't finish in one go. So mostly also 100 word stories or Koikatsu renders.

Recently I'm trying to see if I can find a use for AI. It actually gave me the idea behind Safe Bet, but when I asked it to write the story itself I didn't find its writing to be exactly what I wanted. So I've written it myself. But I still feel like there's something lacking. Like the idea is there alright, but it isn't quite realized into a full fledged story. Like I'm telling instead of showing. Like I've forgotten how to write a story that would feel like showing instead of telling…

I used AI for the poem much more, but I also edited it a lot, not sure if for better or for worse. Because while the AI is not a very good poet, I'm not sure if I'm not even worse. Yet the AI couldn't, of course, understand my idea exactly (it kept writing things like "you died but I still love you" no matter how many times I told it there is no but for Len in that), and it also got very repetitive at some parts.

For Existential Delight after I asked AI to write it for me and didn't like it, once again I wrote it myself, but then I asked AI to make it more detailed and vivid. After that I combined my text with handpicked bits of AI's text… but in the end I'm still not sure if it made it better or just diluted my original ideas. Somehow it also didn't occur to me to save my original text.

And now I have another story in the works inspired by AI's idea. I've kinda already written it, but I'm not happy with it. It feels like it has the same problem as safe bet, where I'm telling instead of showing. Like I'm just describing the idea in more details instead of writing an actual full fledged story on it. Maybe these ideas really just don't suit full fledged stories and I should have worked them into 100 or 250 word type of stories. Or maybe I have unlearned how to write.

I feel like I'm getting dumber and dumber. And lazier and having no attention span, as I said I can't make myself do anything that I can't finish in one go. And just to think that as recently as December I managed to write Flaming Heart. What was it that I had back then that I'm lacking now? A contest with a deadline? But I also hate deadlines. I dunno. There's something in my brain lacking to make me feel emotions. I look at a fun idea and know logically that it is fun. But I don't feel the fun. Maybe that translates into failing to write emotions, which used to be the focus of all my writing. Well, I've been feeling like that for years, but somehow I did manage to write Flaming Heart, so maybe one day I will have another surge of inspiration like that. But no luck so far. There were two stories that I started to write (before my experiments with AI) and was working on them for a whole day, but only got a page or two written and then the next day I just can't find any strength to continue. In daily life I feel like I just automatically follow the routine and whenever something requires me to act consciously I'm trying to avoid it.
