I'm flattered that you considered me to ask for an advice, but I'm afraid I can't provide any. When I'm writing I'm not really following any formula, not consciously anyway. I can say the obvious things like it should be fun, fitting the situation (not random/out of place), fitting the characters and with all of that also steering the story in the direction you want. But how to achieve that, especially when these points might conflict, I don't really know a solution, I just try and sometimes I fail. For example, in this last story it wasn't really my intention to make the brother greedy (unwilling to share his toys with his friends), but it was a way to arrive at the point where the protagonist asks him if he loves his sister. In retrospect I could've probably made it something like "Of course I'll share, I even share my sister" or something. Which brings me to another general advice that I never follow myself: let the text sit for a while before posting it, because you always have good ideas after it's too late.
