My thing is I don't take writing seriously as a craft, because I can't take anything seriously without losing the enjoyment of it, it just starts feeling like stressful work instead of fun hobby. Even though youtube occasionally suggests me videos on writing, when I actually write, it doesn't ever occur to me to remember those videos even existed, because I simply don't think in terms of "what's a good writing practice that I could implement here", I'm only thinking in terms of what would be a fun thing to write and I only exist in the moment, forgetting about any advices or techniques I might've heard about. And treating writing as work for me would defeat the point the same way treating games as work would.

Here's another advice I wish I myself were following more frequently: if you're stuck thinking what would be the best way to write the next scene, but nothing comes to mind, stop thinking and just write it in some way. Doesn't have to be best, doesn't have to even be good for now. But once it is there, you can look at it and see what needs improvement. Even if that improvement would end up throwing away this first version completely and rewriting it from scratch, the act of actually writing it instead of getting stuck thinking about it will help you get unstuck. And if you still have a problem with it, then go ahead and keep writing the rest of the story to return to this scene later. I can't make myself write a later scene if I skipped some other scene, but having it be written in some form helps me get to the later scene, so that I can return to this problematic scene later.
