I dunno, the way I see it that the kink in question is the same "she doesn't matter anymore", and the difference is in storywriting. If the point of the story is that "she doesn't matter" then this fact that "she doesn't matter" does itself matter as the point of the story. You can't have the point of the story missing from the story.

Compare it to the nuance of writing emotionless characters. There's a difference between making the reader feel how the character doesn't feel anything, and not making the reader feel anything. One makes the reader care how the character doesn't care, and the other makes the reader themselves not care. And even if the point of your story is about not caring, you don't want the reader to literally not care about the story itself!

Or as another example compare erotic content about casual nudity and actual real-life casual nudity. I tried once watching a nudist video and it didn't feel exciting at all, even though you'd think it matches my fetish of casual nudity perfectly. But with actual erotic content the trick is to make it in a way where it's only casual to the characters but erotic to the reader. In a real nudist video nudity is really nothing special so it doesn't excite. In erotic content about it, the fact that nudity is nothing special for the characters is presented in a way to make this very fact into something special that would excite. It isn't _really_ nothing special, it's only playing pretend that it's nothing special, but actually is very purposely trying to excite you.
