Oh, I can totally get the appeal of twins dying together, sure. (I could write a whole paragraph here too, but why say the obvious, and I've already written too much today).

On the other hand, scenarios where only one of them dies let me explore a different aspect of casual attitude: not only to one's own death but to one's beloved's death (think how all of my Rei stories were from Shinji's perspective). Len and Rin share a very special bond of being twins, they're inseparable and do everything together, they love and cherish each other more than anything in the world. And then it is contrasted by how one of them doesn't bat an eye as the other dies, or even enjoys it. Instead of only contrasting casualness of death to its logical consequences, such stories also contrast it to the feelings love and affection. And as you know I like my stories focusing on emotions.

Then again, you mention taking turns, and in a way they do it by me letting one or the other of the twins die in these shorter stories. They're not really divided into executioner and executed, as they don't care which of them is which. Like in the Taboo story the reason why it's Len who kills Rin and not the other way isn't because he enjoys killing and/or she enjoys dying, but simply because they consider it would be more practical for necrophilia for Len to stick his dick in Rin's dead pussy than for Rin to try do something with Len's dead dick.
