It seems a bit inconsistent that the mother suggests that her daughter's head would feature in her funeral (with tears in her eyes, no less), but then she just tosses it into the trash. Maybe I am misunderstanding it, and she was saying "yep, that's proof enough that she's dead for me to plan a funeral", but if so that wasn't clear to me
