Very interesting story!

The idea of there still being a sort of meta-physical connection to removed body parts which only lasts until new ones are formed is not something I remember seeing before this.

I have one major suggestion, though; try to hit enter twice instead of just once to separate blocks of text, so that the whole thing is easier to read
