Len woke up in Rin’s embrace, yet he was feeling sad they won’t be together for much longer. Today their school was sending him and Tianyi to a singing competition in another city. Rin couldn’t even accompany him as a guest, as it was a school day, so she still had to attend classes.
As they hugged tightly before leaving each their own way, Rin tried to alleviate Len’s nervousness, saying:
“Don’t worry, it’s not like I’ll die if you leave me for a day.”
That did help, as he couldn’t help but giggle:
“It would be really funny if after you said that you actually did die.”
“Ha-ha, I guess that’s true,” Rin agreed, “but what are the chances something would really happen?”
“Unless you make it happen?” Len pointed out.
“What, you want me to kill myself while you’re away?” Rin smiled.
“Whatever it takes,” Len kissed her goodbye, “just promise you’ll be dead when I return.”
And thus no sadness was left, as the twins parted ways happier than ever, knowing they’ll never meet again. Rin has spent her school day merrily planning her demise as she gets home, while Len was giving his best performance, encouraged by the anticipation of how the next time he will see his beloved sister she will already be dead. Len’s heart fluttered in delight at that thought, and his very soul was singing, winning him the contest. But he knew the real prize will be waiting for him at home.
