Oh! Now we've reached a conundrum! You've done quite well in introducing young Natalie so now I'm quite invested in her future. I honestly don't want her to die in a few weeks. But simultaneously, I think she'd be absolutely delicious. I really don't know where the story will go from here anymore and that's quite exciting!
A thought just occurred to me. There's some sort of phrase about Men thinking with their penises when they'll fuck crazy knowing it's a bad idea because the girl is hot. But it makes me wonder if there's a female equivalent. Part of Natalie's attraction to the spit is her pussy's desire for the ultimate thrill. So, the question stands, would she still desire the spit without a pussy? It's just a theory, but it would be a neat way of wrapping things up. George and Laura get an amazing meal and Natalie gets to live. The only wrench I see though is the introduction of Carina. Now that Carina is in the picture, Stephanie becomes a redundant character and her chances of joining her daughter on the spit becomes more likely. Additionally so since it's been established that she can't bare any more children. This is your story, so don't change anything for anyone else's sake but I rather hope you don't go this route as Natalie's questioning is a possible subversion of the common Dolcett trope, which is unique and delightful. If the mother ended up living somehow instead of being retired for a younger woman, that would be another subversion of the basic trope and would be quite nice.
But again, don't change anything for anyone and please continue to write. I'm quite enjoying this story!
