Yes, you are correct, Andy was 14 in the story (15 when she gave birth), Merle was 40 in the prequel and 55 in the farm.

I never developed their parent, though I usually write a very short bio for most characters or relations, didn't think it was necessary.

As for the branding, yes, and the video, also yes, it was filmed before she got pregnant!
