With more chapters out I'm going to spill some thoughts out / ramble on about the world building and then some theories and ideas about where the story might go.

I am going to be mentioning stuff from Pixelwriter's other story Happy Ending as their are some important lore pieces in that story. I'll try not to spoil it. It's also been a while since I read any of Edward Hyde's "Sydneyverse" stories, so i'm going to base my thoughts solely on Pixelwriter's stories.

Everything is taking place 300 years in the future, so early 2300s. We do have a few examples of advanced technology, (the hovercar, the home computer, and the "sex toy" from Happy Ending), but it doesn't seem to be super advanced or "science magic". Their doesn't seem to be the type of technology you would see in other stories this far into the future. Stephanie's problems getting pregnant not being solved is an example.

Society wise, the main view we are getting is from Natalie, who appear to be some level of wealthy and still seems to have a slightly naive sheltered view of the world around her. This world seems to be more in the middle of the dystopia / utopia kind of society. Their doesn't seem to be a draconian legal system seemingly made to feed women into a execution dominated prison system. To be fair we haven't had any mention of how the legal system works or what kind of crime rates they have. I think its safe to say that their is no lottery at play to push women into becoming meatgirls. Their is a seedier side with the D-Town, but we don't know how they work. The only hint we get is from the little bit from Stephanie's story about her sister. It does seem that the district is pretty shady with how things happen.

From Happy Ending we know that their is a birth ratio of 1 to 10 in favor of women and that this is a straight meatgirl society and that boys dying in snuff related manners is rare but not unheard of. Also, while the process of becoming a meatgirl is based on consent from the meatgirl, their are people who are pushing for a more dystopian "women are livestock and have 0 rights" mindset, but they appear to be in the minority. Based of that and what we heard about D-Town, said consent might be more loosely defined or not very regulated beyond the commercial level. As far as we know, Natalie hasn't signed a consent form or made any kind of official documentation / evidence that she is consenting to this. Seems easy for shadier people to take advantage of.

Economically, this is a capitalistic society with Natalie's family being on the wealthier side, its hard to say how upper class they are, but I suspect that the family isn't as wealthy as Uncle George. Stephanie on the other hand is implied to have come from a less of then she currently is level. The family from Happy Ending appeared to be middle class, with the father fixing the hovercar and the reaction to the "sex toy". Parts of the story show that there's also a lower class with girls selling themselves off to raise money for the family and chapter 7 heavily implies that their are girls who are convinced that its better for them to be meat. The stories about D-Town also imply that their is a problem with poverty, but at what level is hard to say. I could be wrong and George could be upper class, Natalie middle class, and Happy Ending family lower class.

That ended up longer then I thought so i'll leave the theories and ideas part for another post.
