Light shines through the window
Onto a life-less body.

In his hands, there's a packet of meds.
More of those,
Laid, scattered around the room
At least a dozen,
Empty.
His pale skin is covered by dried-out tears
Slightly closed eyes, as if
They couldn't see a way out.
Open mouth, foaming like tears,
almost completely dried out.

I estimate -
Man, pushing 40.
His suit polished, no stain traces.
In a small flat,
No friends nor family.

Entry in his figures -
Taxes overdue, fine around a hundred
Other than that?
Empty, like a midnight office.

He worked in a lesser known legal office
Known for tormening their workers.
Underpaying them significantly.

His hair was a mess,
Unlike his living space.
Neat and organised, although a bit dusty.

You could see n his body
Lots of bruises and scratches,
Teeth and needle marks.

Lack of a will, and for that matter
He wouldn't have had anyone to give anything to.
