Since it was already quite late by the time they had finished telling Laura all about the fair and showing her their pictures and spoils, Laura and Josh decided to order Chinese takeaway for dinner and the four of them snuggled together on the sofa under a quilt, each with a plate on their lap, watching another Christmas movie and helping themselves from the various containers on the coffee table in front of them, the girls sharing a bottle of Coke while the adults enjoyed some chilled white wine.

“How about we just take them up to bed?” Laura suggested, seeing that the girls had fallen asleep again with at least half an hour of the movie still to go.

“Good idea.” Josh smiled, finishing his wine and setting down the glass then standing and carefully picking Samantha up while Laura did the same with Amelia who was a little lighter than her own daughter. Lovingly, stroking their hair as they carried them, they took the sleeping girls up the stairs to their bedroom. “Should I fetch their pyjamas?” Josh asked as he lay Samantha down on top of the duvet.

“No, they’d only complain when they wake up!” Laura giggled as she lay Amelia down beside her friend. “Let’s just get them undressed.” Samantha stirred a little and moved cooperatively but without properly waking up and Josh manoeuvred her out of her dress and pulled down her tights and panties, finally slipping her training bra off over her head. Perhaps because Amelia’s outfit was easier to remove or perhaps because Laura was just more experienced with the putting on and taking off of girl clothes, she was undressed far quicker and was already laying naked in the bed by the time Josh finished stripping Samantha.

Smiling lovingly and after taking a moment to kiss deeply, Josh and Laura quickly took their own clothes off and slipped into bed either side of the girls, Josh pulled Amelia towards himself and Laura embracing Samantha, the youngsters instinctively snuggling to the adults who cuddled them like warm, fur-less teddy bears.
