Day 1 (continued)
Aria accepts the remote with unsteady fingers, her blue-gray gaze flicking between it and Nala. Her throat bobs as she swallows, her hands shaking slightly. Nala watches her with a look of fierce intensity, lips pressed together in a thin line. Despite everything, there's no pleading in her eyes – just grim resolve and something unspoken that passes between the two women. Aria’s body turns rigid, her knuckles whiten around the remote as she flicks her gaze from the saw to Nala, then back again. Her breathing comes fast and shallow, lips parted slightly. Nala doesn't look away.
"Don't be afraid," she says softly, the words barely carrying through the small room. "I chose this."
She shifts against the restraints again, the movement causing a small trickle of my cum to escape her, trailing down her inner thigh.
Aria's grip tightens on the remote as she stares at the fresh wetness between Nala's thighs. She looks away for a fraction of a second, then returns her attention with a firmer expression. Shoulders square, she lifts the remote.
"I know," she murmurs.
Aria’s finger hovers over the button, breath shallow and rapid. Nala’s dark eyes remain locked on hers. There's no fear in them now – only intense focus. The restraints dig into her wrists and ankles as she subtly flexes her fingers, stretching her body in preparation.
Nala’s voice changes, firm and commanding:
"Do it."
Aria presses the button.
The saw roars to life with a metallic screech, the massive circular blade spinning. Nala watches it closely, expression tightening slightly as the sound fills the room. Her pulse flutters visibly in her neck, a sheen of sweat forming on her brow. She tenses under the restraints.
The whine of the saw's movement fills the air as it creeps closer to Nala's spread thighs. She tenses slightly, her breath coming faster as the massive blade advances, but her eyes never leave Aria. The saw's edge hovers just an inch away from her pussy now, the cool metal reflecting the light as it slowly approaches.
Aria stands rigid by the control panel, her finger still pressing the button, her other hand clenched into a fist at her side. Her chest rises and falls in short, rapid bursts. Nala turns her gaze to the spinning blade between her thighs, licks her lips and exhales slowly, deliberately.
"Here we go," she says clearly, voice steady despite the strain.
The saw moves with deliberate slowness, its massive blade rotating faster and faster as it inches toward Nala's exposed pussy. She tenses, but she doesn't look away. Her dark eyes track the movement, unblinking, as the whine of the machine grows louder. Aria watches her with wide, glassy eyes, her grip on the remote so tight her fingers shake.
"Breathe," I hear Aria murmur, her voice nearly lost under the high-pitched whine of the saw.
My fingers tighten around Nala's hand, her skin damp with sweat despite the cool air in the room. Her fingers twitch in mine, reflexive or intentional – it’s impossible to tell. I brush her ponytail back over her shoulder, the long black strands catching the harsh lighting. Her dark eyes flick to me for just a moment before returning to the saw, though I sense her awareness of me at every second.
"Don't look at it," I say quietly. "Look at me."
Nala's eyes find mine, and there's something unsettling in them now – fierce defiance mixed with an almost desperate concentration.
Her fingers squeeze mine with surprising strength. The saw is almost touching her pussy, its razor-sharp teeth blurring as they spin.
"Remember what I told you," I whisper. "Focus on my face. Focus on me."
Nala's gaze narrows slightly, but she holds it. Her body tenses under the restraints as the saw approaches the top of her thigh, where the blade will make its first contact.
"I will remember you," I say, looking into her eyes, her widened pupils making them even darker.
Nala's lips part slightly as she inhales, her eyes never leaving mine. Her grip on my hand tightens further, her knuckles whitening as she fights to control her breathing. And then it happens.
The saw bites into Nala's flesh with a wet, horrible sound. Blood sprays outward in a hot arc, splattering across my chest and arms. Nala's scream is immediate and guttural, her back arching violently against the restraints. Her hand clenches in mine like a vice, her fingers digging painfully into my palm as the blade continues its inexorable journey.
She trembles, the entire lower half of her body shaking as the saw begins the process of cutting through her pubic bone. The sound of metal against bone is unmistakable – dull, grating, awful.
Nala's scream intensifies as the saw progresses through her pelvic girdle, her muscles tensing and relaxing spasmodically. The metal plate beneath her catches the flowing blood, the liquid spreading in a widening pool around her torso. I maintain my grip on her hand, though her fingers seem scarcely conscious of their own motion now, alternating between clenching and spasming.
Aria stands frozen beside the control panel, tears streaming down her face as she watches Nala being cut in half.
The saw's edge slices through Nala's womb with a thick, sickening crunch of meat and bone. Her scream becomes ragged as her internal organs are exposed to the saw's whirring blade. Dark blood gushes in thick pulses, spilling across the surgical table as her body shudders with the trauma. The saw continues its inexorable progress, now cutting through her intestines with a wet, ripping sound.
Her grip on my hand weakens as shock sets in, her fingers going slack one by one. Despite the agony, her eyes remain open and aware, still locked onto mine.
Nala's body convulses as the saw slices through her upper abdomen, her ribcage splitting open like a butchered pig. Her fingers go completely limp in my grasp now, but her eyes remain fixed on mine, the expression in them shifting from pain to something almost peaceful.
I stroke her hair gently as her chest cavity opens, her lungs deflating with her ragged breathing. Blood and viscera spill out in a thick flood, pooling beneath her and running down the surgical table's sides. Her heart still beats, each contraction pumping more blood from the gaping wound where her torso used to be whole.
"I hate you," she manages to gasp, but there's no force behind it – just a statement of fact.
The saw's edge finally reaches the midpoint of Nala's collarbone, grinding to a halt as the motor winds down. Her body has gone still now, aside from the small, rhythmic spasms of her exposed heart. A thin line of blood still trickles from the cut, running down the front of her torso in a narrow stream. Her chest has collapsed inward where the saw has cut, her ribs jutting like the broken wings of some wounded bird.
I can see inside her now – her severed womb lying in the cavity beneath, her intestines coiled like pale rope. Her head lolls slightly to the side, her eyes still open but her gaze fading.
I watch as her lungs spasm one last time, expelling a final gout of blood from her mouth. A thin trickle runs down her chin, mixing with the sheen of sweat on her face. Despite the horror of the moment, there’s a strange beauty to her in death – the defiance still evident in her set jaw, the resolute expression as she took this final walk.
Aria has moved to my side, pressing against me as she watches Nala’s lifeblood seep away. Her small hand finds mine, squeezing with desperate pressure as she watches the last light fade from Nala’s eyes.
Her other hand is still wrapped around the remote, thumb still unconsciously pressing the button, as if she hasn’t realized the saw has already stopped. For a moment she simply stares at her own fingers in silent disbelief, as though the hand isn’t hers at all. Then she recoils and flings the remote away from herself with a sharp gasp, as if it were a venomous snake that had suddenly woken in her palm.
"Is she...?" Aria's voice cracks on the word.
"She's gone."
I reach to gently close Nala’s eyes as blood still leaks from the gash where her torso had been. The saw’s teeth have left jagged edges of bone visible, the metallic tang of fresh blood heavy in the air. I press two fingers to the side of her neck anyway, confirming the absence of a pulse. Her skin has already begun to cool.
Aria steps closer, her small frame pressing against my side as she watches me work. Her fingers remain tightly wound with mine, her other hand now shaking violently from phantom pressure where the remote had been. Her breathing is shallow and quick, shoulders tense as she watches me signal the cleaning crew.
The cleaners move with swift precision, their blue-garbed figures swarming around Nala's cooling corpse like ants at a picnic. I note the efficiency of their movements as they spray industrial-strength cleaner on the bloodied floor, mopping up the worst of it with large absorbent pads. One of them briefly glances at me – cool, indifferent – before returning to his work, this being just a routine for them. The metallic tang of blood still hangs in the air, but it's already beginning to fade under the harsh chemical smell of disinfectant.
I guide Aria out of the room, her small hand still clutching mine. She moves robotically, her steps mechanically placed as if her mind has retreated somewhere deep inside herself. She doesn't speak as I lead her back into the holding area of the dungeon, her breathing shallow and quick.
Silence blankets the dungeon like a suffocating shroud as I enter with Aria still pressed against my side. Six pairs of eyes track my movement, each girl wearing the haunted expression of survivors who've just witnessed a human die in the most brutal manner imaginable. The space is thick with unspoken terror and grief.
Lian breaks the silence first, her voice hoarse from suppressed tears.
"Why you... why you do this?"
Her accusation hangs in the air, aimed not just at me but at the very concept of the show itself. The remaining girls stand in various poses of distress – Harper kneels with her arms wrapped around herself, her body wracked with silent sobs. Sofia’s back is pressed against the far wall as if trying to disappear into it, her fingers tracing the soft surface behind her. Mia paces in tight circles, her bare feet making soft sounds against the floor. Juliette and Isla stand together, their bodies pressed close in mutual comfort.
I open my mouth – and nothing comes out. There is no answer that wouldn’t make it worse, no explanation that would calm their terror or absolve me. I can’t tell them the truth, and I can’t lie convincingly enough to matter. So I say nothing at all.
"That was all for today," I say, helping Aria stand upright on her trembling legs. "You'll eat in one hour. Nobody else has to die... until tomorrow."
The statement sends a visible ripple through the gathered women. Juliette’s breath hitches audibly, and she grips Isla's arm tightly enough that Isla winces. Mia halts her pacing, her fists clenching and unclenching at her sides. Sofia slides down the wall until she's sitting, her legs pulled up to her chest. Only Lian seems to maintain some composure, though her fingers twitch against her biceps, her stare locked onto me with a simmering fury beneath the grief.
Aria still hasn't let go of my hand. She squeezes it now, her grip almost painful as she looks up at me with wide, unblinking eyes. She searches my face for something – perhaps a sign of mercy or some shred of humanity. I see only exhaustion and grief in her expression, a weariness that goes far beyond mere physical tiredness.
"Go sit," I tell her gently, guiding her toward one of the sleeping mats.
She sits stiffly, still holding my hand even as I kneel before her. Her gaze remains fixed on the wall where Nala's death was enacted, the glass still smeared with her blood despite the cleaning crew's efforts.
"Thank you," she whispers, though it sounds hollow, automatic.
Her fingers remain locked with mine, desperate for some semblance of connection in this hellish place. The other girls watch silently, none daring to approach, each lost in their own terror of what will come tomorrow.
Finally, I unclasp her fingers from mine and stand, turning my back on the girls. For a moment, the sounds still bleed through the metal – Juliette’s quiet sobbing, Isla murmuring something meant to comfort, Lian’s clipped voice telling everyone to calm down.
Then Juliette snaps, her voice raw and shaking.
“Shut the fuck up, no?”
Silence follows.
The noise fades as I move down the corridor, the overhead lights dimming automatically in my wake.
My footsteps echo off the sterile walls. The observation room door hisses open as I approach, the control panel flickering to life at my presence. I look at the security monitors, watching as the girls settle into their beds. Aria sits alone at the far end, curled on her side facing the wall, her back to her remaining companions. Her body language is defensive, withdrawn. Juliette and Isla share a bed, curled together like children. Lian paces near the entrance, glancing repeatedly at the door as if she expects me to return immediately. Mia stands by herself, arms crossed, watching the other girls with a blank stare. Harper sits on her mat, hiding her head between her knees. Sofia has finally lain down but hasn't closed her eyes, her hands clutching the mattress like it's a lifeline.
For a moment, I consider returning there and speaking to them – giving some kind of comfort, some small reassurance. But what comfort could I possibly offer?
I turn up the audio on the nearest feed. Juliette's voice comes through the speakers, barely audible.
"I keep thinking... that could have been me."
Isla turns to look at her.
"Aye. Could've been any of us."
"But it was Nala. And she was..." Juliette struggles for words. "She was so strong. If someone that strong can die here, what chance do the rest of us have?"
Isla hesitates, then lets her hand find Juliette’s. The gesture is simple, careful – as if waiting to see whether it will be refused.
"We have the same chance she did. We survive until we don't."
Juliette visibly shudders.
"That is a terrible way to think about living."
"Aye." Isla squeezes Juliette's hand. "But it's the only way tae think about living here."
Juliette leans her head against Isla's shoulder. On the monitor, they look impossibly young.
"I am scared," she says quietly.
"I know, lass. Me too."
Juliette presses herself closer to Isla, as if trying to disappear into the space she offers.
"Will you... will you stay close to me? Tomorrow, and the day after? I do not want to be alone when..." She doesn't finish.
"I'll stay close," Isla promises. "For as long as I can."
I watch the space between them disappear, inch by inch, and feel something twist in my chest. When they finally lie down to sleep, Isla's hand doesn’t leave Juliette's.
Emotional bonds form fast in here. They have to.
And they break just as fast.
I run a hand through my hair, gripping the back of my neck as I replay Nala’s death in my mind. The blood. The screams. The way Nala's body had convulsed, her fingers crushing mine with impossible strength. The exact second when her grasp slipped away – not gently, not peacefully, but like something vital had snapped inside her. I remember the way she'd looked at me – not with hatred, as she'd claimed, but with something else. Something almost... resigned. I wonder if the little comfort I offered her while she was dying somehow made me a better person… or just helped me pretend to be one. Maybe it was symbolic. Maybe it was completely insufficient. But what else could I have done?
The observation room suddenly feels too small. I get up, needing to move, needing to escape my own thoughts. I pace the confined space for a few minutes before exiting and going to my living quarters.
I strip off my blood-stained clothes in the bathroom, tossing them into the biohazard disposal chute with mechanical precision. The water in the shower scalds, turning the drain pink as it rinses away Nala's blood. I scrub my skin until it's raw, until the water runs clear, but I can still see her face in the steam.
My quarters feel especially empty tonight. The bedroom is pristine, the bed perfectly made. I pour two fingers of whiskey, swirling the amber liquid as it catches the light. The television screen glows blue and cold in the corner, showing the dungeon. The mat where Nala had slept last night is empty now, as if she'd never been there.
