Feeling more connected than they ever had before, now that they were in a place and time that was totally for them, where all that mattered for the moment was their love and desire for one another, Josh and Amelia moved together, their bodies as one, reaching as simultaneous climax as the song reached its passionate crescendo.
Panting for breath, Josh lay down on the bed beside his young lover, the film of sweat which coated her entire body glistening in the half-light as the Phantom and Christine returned to speak-singing, debating what future, if any, there could be for the two of them now that she knew he was alive. Amelia rolled onto his side, snuggled to him and gently removed the white half-mask from his face then kissed him once more.
“Thank you!” she whispered. “That was amazing and just what I’ve been dreaming of!” Unable to find the words to answer her, Josh gently caressed her back, thighs and rump for a few minutes before remembering the next treat he had prepared for them to share.
“The bath is running!” he told her with a grin. “Ready to test out one of those bath bombs?”
“Definitely!” she grinned. “Hey, you know what I’d like to do?”
“What’s that?” Josh asked, ready to indulge whatever desire had crossed her barely-adolescent imagination.
“You know how in the movies, people sit in those big bath tubs and drink champagne?” she explained with child-like enthusiasm. “Can we do something like that?”
“I’m sure we can!” Josh chuckled, standing up and re-tying his robe more out of habit than modesty, thinking to call for room service but then remembering something. “Didn’t the lady say there would be drinks included with the hamper but that they would be in the fridge under the desk?”
“Ooh yes she did!” Amelia agreed, kneeling upright on the bed. “But I don’t see a fridge?”
“Maybe it’s inside one of these little cupboards?” Josh wondered out loud. At either end of the desk, forming the legs, were a set of drawers and a small cupboard. He had glanced into the set on the left earlier, finding them empty and of little interest, but had not explored the set on the right. The cupboard where he had expected the fridge might be concealed contained a small safe with a resettable digital combination but nothing else. In slight confusion, Josh opened the top drawer, finding a Gideon’s Bible and a hardback guide to local attractions, then tried to open the second one only to find, to his surprise, that the draw fronts beneath the top one were just a facade and were actually the door to the aforementioned fridge!
Inside were two bottles of mineral water, still and sparkling, a bottle of Coke, a glass bottle of orange juice, a bottle of expensive branded lemonade, a bottle of white wine and, exactly what Amelia had been hoping for, a large bottle of sparkling wine, twice the size of a normal bottle with a foil-wrapped cork in the top that could only be described as theatrical! Josh lifted it out and checked the label. The alcohol content was only 6%, significantly weaker than regular wine but, combined with the bubbles, certainly enough to get a young girl like Amelia tipsy, especially if drunk in significant quantities. The taste was described as “Refreshing and Fruity” and on the scale of 1-10 from sweet to dry, it was labelled as 4. It was clearly designed to be enjoyed by the kinds of “Daddies and daughters” that the receptionist had implied liked to frequent that hotel! Tucked into the side of the fridge were a selection of glasses, presumably put there to chill to keep the drinks cold when poured out.
“Shall we take this party to the bathroom, m’lady?” Josh suggested, taking out the pair of champagne flutes and offering his arm to Amelia, the bottle held in his other hand.
“Why, my dear sir, that sounds simply charming!” Amelia giggled, slipping off the bed and taking his arm, placing one hand on top of the other. He turned the lights in the room back on dimly, partly for when they came out of the bathroom and partly so that the light in there would not be too much of a shock for their eyes. “Ooh wait!” Amelia gasped, letting go of him and scampering over to the low coffee table in front of the L-shaped sofa where she had left most of the gift-basket. “There we go!” she returned with a shimmering which bath-bomb in her hand and, now fully equipped, they headed arm in arm to the bathroom.
