IX – PROCESSING STAFF & AUTHORITY
PROCESSING CENTER STAFF
Processing Centers employ a variety of civilian personnel responsible for maintaining facility operations.
These staff members wear yellow identification watches indicating institutional authority without Butcher status.
Common staff roles include:
Security Officers
Responsible for maintaining physical safety within the facility, supervising Animal movement, and responding to disturbances.
Matron Supervisors
Administrative staff responsible for behavioral oversight of Animals, dormitory supervision, and enforcement of daily routines.
Technical Personnel
Maintenance specialists responsible for facility infrastructure, sanitation systems, and operational equipment.
Counselors
Professionals tasked with stabilizing newly converted individuals and assisting minors with psychological adjustment.
Administrative Staff
Personnel responsible for scheduling, logistics, record keeping, and coordination of Processing Center operations.
Staff members do not perform Processing procedures.
Only licensed Butchers possess operational authority inside Processing Chambers.
Staff retain standard clothing privileges and wear institutional uniforms appropriate to their role.

THE BUTCHERS
Butchers are licensed professionals selected for psychological composure and procedural precision.
Their role is to guide the transition from personhood to Animal status and ensure calm, structured final moments.
Modern practice is clinical, predictable, and ritualized.
Consent parameters for final preferences are honored where possible.
By tradition, Butchers are forbidden from wearing clothing, including footwear, gloves, protective gear, and jewellery.
Clothing represents civic identity.
Butchers perform Processing without garments as a symbolic rejection of civilian status while on duty.
Processing procedures are clinical and efficient.
Butchers do not perform unnecessary mutilation or prolonged suffering unless the Animal consents.
Their role is to carry out the final procedure in a controlled, professional manner.
Preparation focuses on positioning, restraint, and procedural readiness rather than graphic bodily damage.

BUTCHER WORK BELTS
Butchers carry a standard issue equipment harness commonly referred to as a Work Belt.
Because Butchers are forbidden from wearing clothing during active duty, the Work Belt functions as the primary method of carrying operational tools.
The belt rests at the waist and contains a number of reinforced attachment points and storage loops designed for Processing Center operations.
Typical equipment carried on a Work Belt may include:
• cutting instruments
• restraint cord or rope
• control batons
• identification tools
• procedural instruments used during Processing preparation
The Work Belt is considered professional equipment rather than clothing and does not violate the institutional doctrine prohibiting garments for Butchers.

SYMBOLIC FUNCTION
Beyond its practical purpose, the Work Belt has become an important symbol of Butcher authority within Processing Centers.
Animals and facility staff commonly recognize the belt as the visible marker of operational control.
In institutional culture, the presence of the belt signals that the individual is acting in an official Processing capacity.
Even when not actively engaged in Processing, Butchers typically remain equipped with their Work Belts while on duty.
