ANIMAL TRAINING & BEHAVIORAL CONDITIONING
Animals assigned to functional classifications may undergo structured behavioral conditioning prior to placement or operational duty.
The purpose of conditioning is to promote stability, obedience, and predictable behavior within Processing Center environments and approved civilian placements.
Training programs focus on practical behavioral outcomes rather than restoration of prior identity.
Personnel conducting conditioning procedures emphasize simple instructions, routine reinforcement, and consistent supervision.
Conditioning does not restore civic personhood.
Animals remain under full Processing Center jurisdiction throughout the training process.

CONDITIONING ENVIRONMENTS
Behavioral conditioning typically occurs within designated training areas located inside Processing Centers.
These environments are designed to minimize distraction and reinforce compliance through structured routines.
Training spaces may include:
• controlled instruction rooms
• supervised exercise yards
• domestic simulation areas
• sanitation and labor practice spaces
These environments allow staff to observe how Animals respond to commands, unfamiliar situations, and structured work tasks.
Animals who display persistent instability or refusal to comply may be removed from training programs and reassigned to standard Processing schedules.

WORKING ANIMAL TRAINING
Animals selected for Working designation receive conditioning related to institutional operations.
Training commonly includes:
• sanitation procedures
• supply handling and transport
• basic facility maintenance routines
• equipment preparation
• safe movement within operational environments
Working Animals are trained to follow verbal instructions issued by supervising Butchers or facility staff.
Because Processing Center operations require predictable behavior, emphasis is placed on calm response and procedural discipline.
Animals unable to maintain behavioral stability during operational tasks may be reassigned to non-operational classifications.

SERVICE STOCK TRAINING
Animals designated as Service Stock receive conditioning focused on interaction within civilian environments.
Training programs typically emphasize:
• domestic task routines
• kitchen and sanitation procedures
• safe movement within populated environments
• basic response to verbal commands
• behavioral composure in public spaces
Service Stock are trained to remain calm in the presence of Citizens and to respond predictably to instructions issued by authorized supervisors.
Because Service Stock may operate within civilian environments, behavioral reliability is considered essential.
Animals demonstrating unpredictable or disruptive behavior may be returned to Processing Center custody for reassignment.

COMPANION ANIMAL CONDITIONING
Animals selected for Companion designation undergo behavioral conditioning intended to support stable domestic placement.
Training typically focuses on:
• calm interaction with civilian household members
• response to basic verbal commands
• controlled behavior within residential environments
• tolerance of handling and supervision
Companion Animals are conditioned to remain compliant within domestic spaces and to respond reliably to their custodians.
Emphasis is placed on minimizing behaviors that could cause distress or disruption within household environments.
Animals who fail to demonstrate the necessary temperament for domestic placement may be reassigned to alternate classifications.

BEHAVIORAL STABILITY PRINCIPLE
Processing Center doctrine recognizes behavioral stability as the primary indicator of functional usefulness.
Animals who demonstrate calmness, predictability, and willingness to comply with instructions are more likely to receive extended residency within operational roles or civilian placements.
Animals who resist conditioning or exhibit disruptive behavior are typically returned to standard Processing schedules.
Institutional guidance summarizes this principle in simple terms:
Stability creates usefulness.
Usefulness extends time.
However, as with all functional classifications, behavioral success does not restore civic status.
Animals remain Animals under Conversion law regardless of training outcome.
