I just might. No offence to Edward, but settings where all the snuff and cannibalism is embraced with sheer enthusiasm by all participants just strikes me as being too slapstick to be engaging. Settings where the emotions are more nuanced, varied such as yours hits that emotional sweetspot. Even with a century or so of top down normalization and propaganda, it'll still be extremely difficult to overcome hardwired biological instinct to self preservation.
