I remember a story from years ago called "Jenny's gonna have her titties munched" that took place in a broadly similar world, with the meat-lottery system etc. In that story, there were fairly luxurious train services to take the meatgirls to the processing centre where they got snacks and drinks and were generally pampered like first class passengers.
