Yes, I really like the sacrificial aspect of this world-setting. In my view, very few willingly choose to lose all their rights with a very certain chance of being euthanized and turned into food, but they go ahead with it because its what society expects, demands of them. Its all very detached and impersonal. The people carrying out the killing and the people giving up their life all accept "this is how society works", despite any personal misgivings they may individually have.
