Can't say I've heard of Fido.

And thanks to you both for reading. Riley's parents do know she's a pet, they provided character evaluations prior to her training, but since she isn't legally their daughter they wouldn't know who she was sold too.

That said I do think Matilda would allow Riley to remain in contact with them. Her decision to buy a Companion was centered around her own son, Alex, and how much she missed him. So she wouldn't dream of denying a family access to their converted daughter if she's still alive.
