Oh yes I knew the Can-Can's scandalous history which is why I thought it would be fun to take it to the next level 😁 As for Rasputin, I learned a while back not to trust that audiences will understand my pop-culture references! Plus it adds a bit of depth to the paragraph, beyond just saying "They danced to (song name)" 😁
