Just thinking practically: More "habitants" means a bigger pot is needed. But after the "visitors" leave, the filling height will drop remarkable. Will there be enough content left to boil the intrinsic meat. Adding water would influence the meat-liquid-ratio and dilute the stew. How is this to be solved? ;)

I once more have a problem with the logic behind the Sidneyvers' narrative[1].
The Castlefords have a big house with an even bigger garden, which means they are not the poorest family and have something to bequeath. Considering that they celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary and have an only fifteen year old daughter there is a interesting delay. This could be an indication for difficulties of procreation or that Megan wasn't planned at all. The latter would explain why they use their only heir so easily as main course while the former leaves a lot of questionmarks, because at their age (minimum late thirties, probably older ["I'll leave all that to you young folk"]) the chances for a successful conception would even be less than twenty years ago.

This is not an urgent question that needs an immediate answer, it's more philosophical. Only if you already were thinking about it I'm curious with what you came up.
