Startrek --- The Cannigreens


"Section 31 Ship's Log: Starship Saratoga (NX-S31) – Captain Picard. This will be my most difficult mission. I have assumed command of the Saratoga. This ship and part of its crew normally operate under the authority of the intelligence agency Section 31. Our mission is shrouded in the utmost secrecy, yet it simultaneously serves as an official gathering of high-ranking Starfleet officials. If successful, it will go down in the history books.

Our ship is rendezvousing with other vessels from the fleet. Several diplomats and additional crew members are set to join us. Together, we will travel to the home world of the Cannigreens to negotiate trade relations and their entry into the Federation. The Cannigreens are a spiritually inclined people with highly advanced technology; they managed to destroy a menacing Borg invasion cube using only a single one of their own starships. That is why Section 31 is involved.

To enter into negotiations, the Cannigreens require participation in their spiritual rituals—rituals that include elements of cannibalism. This mission is vital, yet it presents a difficult moral dilemma: the freedom and security of the Federation weighed against individual—albeit voluntary—sacrifices."
Anyone who fries a Tribble ends up in the frying pan themselves later on.
