Part 2:
Numerous displays of new inventions covered the place of Piltover. Colorful robot butterflies, musical devices and complexly woven fabrics appeared everywhere, while the smell of delicious meat brought everything together. Caitlyn patrolled the place as Jayce stopped her.
Jayce was now Piltover’s most prolific and important inventor. He had some issues a few years ago when his apartment got blown up, but he was a man, and only women lived nearby so there were no real danger and got off easily. A few days after the incident he made a breakthrough on his research which made him who he is now.
“Caitlyn, I’m happy to see you!” He took her in his arms, pushing her large breasts against his chest. “Same here. I heard you’ll give the opening speech. You are a busy man, it’s hard to see you.” she replied as she got out of his arms. “Don’t tell me, I’d kill for some free time.” but she tapped his shoulder. “Don’t lie, you love your work. It’s a shame I won’t be able to hear your speech, they put me on patrol outside the building.” Jayce teased her back. “Oh don’t worry, I can explain to you every scientific details of my last experiments, going deep into the calculations and with all the terminology.” and Caitlyn pushed him away. “No thank you. I’d love to keep going but I’m working. See you later!” she yelled as she walked away.
The day continued in joy and peace. Jayce worked on his speech and the last changes on what to show and what to keep secret. Caitlyn finished her rounds and met up with her colleges. As Jayce was about to began, Caitlyn and 6 other enforcers got dispatched on the west side of the place. Everyone attended Jayce’s speech, so they didn’t have much to do. They chatted with each others, Caitlyn being the newest and from a noble family got a lot of mockeries, but she got used to it. After a few minutes, they notices a fire in nearby houses and female screams coming out.
This usually wouldn’t alert them, but a lot of men lived there, even if said men were away at the moment the enforcers still had to put out the fire to minimize the damages. They arrived at the scene, a dozen charred corpses covered the ground, thankfully all were females. Everyone believed that no men was inside the fire, but Caitlyn wanted to do things by the book and properly ensure that there were indeed no men. She entered the blazing fire with little to no protections, only to see a “Gotcha!” sign inside written in blue and pink, the same color that she found in the ship’s hold.
At the same time, she heard six loud gunshots, and as many corpses falling to the ground. Caitlyn calmly noted the death of her teammates. She navigated her way though the scorching fire and confirmed the obvious death of her colleagues. She immediately treated their corpses as piles of evidences and investigated them. The shots were clean. They did not have time to react. Weirdly, no trace of gun powder could be found.
This did not make sense, why create such a diversion to kill seven random Enforcers. Zaunites hated them but this was a whole other level. From the positions of the corpses, the shooter had to stand near the fire, they did not value their life much. One of those mad females from Zaun.
Caitlyn continued her analyze. She stripped the piles of meat, and noticed that they had light footprint in their flesh. The culprit had to be skinny, a child would have let a smaller mark. To be this skinny she had to be physical trained but not buff. Probably from the deepest layer of Zaun. She was either a skilled assassin or thief, from Zaun probably both.
The footprints pointed to the conference building, as expected. Everything and everyone worthy of being stolen or killed was there at the moment. But this was crowed to the brim, a diversion of seven enforcers wouldn’t change a thing. Then she connected the dots. The west entrance was connected to Jayce’s lab, which was now empty. The culprit tried to steal’s Jayce’s inventions and dangerous magic crystals!
