I didn't really call attention to it, but the doctor was quietly taking the meat as his payment for the house call and/or just to get rid of the bodies. I never really made up my mind if he was selling them to the neighborhood butcher or keeping them for himself. Probably some of each.

I was originally going to have Mama chop up each little monkey to split with the doctor, but I decided that was just slowing down the story.
