I'm not too big on hangings, but this does sound a little like one of Waita Uziga's works. He's got a comic series (which I've read little of) where a professor punishes his students for various failures.

I remember one where he pulls a girl inside out and hangs her from the ceiling to watch the class, or something like that. Perhaps you should try searching for his stuff?
