How do you deal with a threat like the Widowmaker? A renowned assassin with a kill count longer than Santa Claus' naughty list? This was a woman who was as deadly as she was beautiful, and in professional circles, she was considered literally drop-dead gorgeous. To even consider taking out a contract on someone like that was nearly suicidal. So how then, do you do it?
You take your time. Over a year, in this case, of stalking the most delay prey out there - an apex predator. But even a peak killer like the Widowmaker lets her guard down every once in a while, and today was that day. Clearly she felt safe, swimming about topless in the pool. Oh, she had weapons (she was a weapon, when one got right down to it). But those were out of reach, across the way, resting near the chair she'd set up for sunbathing.
The house she was staying in was off the beaten path. It was supposedly secure. State of the art security systems. Dogs roaming the grounds. All of it. Why, you'd need to be a killer as highly trained as her to get close enough to even see her, let alone do anything to her. Unfortunately for the former Ms. Lacroix, just one such a threat had found her that day.
Her only warning was a stray flash of light, glinting off of something atop the building she was staying in. It caught her eye, and drew her gaze up, as she paused, three steps past the edge of the pool. She tilted her head in confusion, and then shock. Pain ripped through her chest, and a moment later, the distinct pop of a suppressed long rifle could still be heard.By then, her toned back and been blown out, the bullet having ripped into the spot between her heavy breasts, and clear through, taking out a large chunk of her lung, as well as the expanse of her back.
She stared down, in dismay, as her legs gave out and she crashed to her knees. Weak arms reached up to prod the small hole in her chest, as blood bubbled up between her lips. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. This didn't happen to her. Everything grew hazy, and she swayed for a moment. She was already dead, her mind and body just hadn't caught up to the fact. The pain that blossomed again a moment later, with the meek attempt of her heart to keep her going, brought it to the forefront, and she moaned in pain, falling forward.
A loud thud drew what would be the assassin's last conscious gaze, as she looked to see a pair of boots approaching. "Well, that wasn't so tough after all," a rough male voice said, accompanied by the sound of a blade being drawn from a scabbard. There was a kiss of cold metal to the nape of her neck, but the woman was barely able to register it. She gave a cough, and blood sprayed out onto the pool side tiles.
With a laugh, and a grunt, the man that had killed the Widowmaker finished his contract. One swift stroke, and the girls head rolled forward, away from its severed neck. The man picked her head up by its long, dark hair, and turned it around to face her body as it spasmed, making sure the dead eyes watched the gaping wound in her back, and the way her legs clenched, before a steady stream of piss voided itself out into the pool behind her corpse.
The Headhunter gave the girls dead lips a little kiss and laughed at the stupid expression that her face was settling into. "You'll make a fine trophy for the wall indeed."
The body would be found roughly a day later, when the cleaning staff arrived. No trace of the man who killed her remained at the scene by that point.
