I am recreating this discussion, because I need more opinions.

I made a discussion post about utilization of post tags before the wipe. To recall the outcome, we decided on encouraging, but never forcing their usage. I also suggested making a list of major tags, and putting them with their explanations on the upcoming FAQ. You would be able to tag posts as you wish too, including tags for content creators, characters, or really niche interests, as well to blacklist controversial content, such as scat or lolicon.

In addition to that, I suggested creating a separate GuroWiki. There, any guro interest including niche ones could have it's own article. It would include much more besides just a guide for tagging. There would also be topics like Gurochan's history and prehistory, characters like Bikko or Jissouseki, guides on finding guro material, erotic or noneronic guro games or similar game mods... Think it like a centralized extensive wiki for everything in guro culture, as it's already hard to find related information on the non-Japanese web.

So far, it has been a controversial idea, because a Wiki for a 'slow site like Gurochan' (note that kokonotsuba is released, we will now start working on increasing the userbase) which is open for anyone to edit would get vandalized or abandoned, or because 'guro doesn't have enough actual cultural value that would be worth putting on a wiki'. That's why I am here, asking for your opinions, as well if you would contribute to a such wiki.

I was just reminiscing about how I got into this, and thought it would be a good topic for a thread.

I think I've been attracted to this stuff for as long as I can remember. I used to love children's horror stories, and those cautionary tales. And the billy 'poems' that were going around, like:

Later, I'd fantasise about doing horrible things to my classmates and teachers, especially those who were mean to me.

I used to play a game when I rode on the bus too. I'd imagine there was a giant roller running alongside the bus, on the pavement (sidewalk) smashing everything and squishing everyone, especially the cuties.

And I read some of the stories. Hardly any even catered to my tastes, and those that did often weren't very well written. Well that's ok, you take what you can get.

About 2 years ago, I read some stories, and thought. 'These are lame! Even I can do better than that'. But I thought I'd need a username. So I did that and started writing. All my life I thought I couldn't write fiction, but suddenly it provided an outlet. A few days later I had 15000 words done, and so that was the start of that.

For the peeps that have been lurking this site for longer than just this iteration, could you provide any insight on where all these drawings might've spawned from? If you're still not aware of what I'm referring to, the huge archive of 2006-2010 era /g/ is the best example; that collection is absolutely FILLED with oekaki drawings, along with deviantART, LJ, sheezyart, etc. guro art. Right now my hunch is the oekaki guro images originate from Futaba, with a mix of notable guro artists (like for example, Uziga Waita) hosting personal webpages with oekaki BBS open for fans to draw whatever fantasies they wanted to on it. Now I think the latter would make a lot of sense, since if I'm not mistaken, Futaba doesn't have any NSFW oekaki board intended for guro. What happened to the thread lists? /dis is the only section where it still works when you enter it, but it displays on the dis main page as just a string of title links. That was briefly the condition in /lit before it disappeared. I found it generally more convenient than the main page for following the threads that I knew.

A question for gurochanners that might live in Japan/east-asia or torrent a lot of guro manga. Whenever I try to keep up with today's artists that post frequent statuses on twitter or one of their loli friendly alternatives, I get stress induced chest pains trying to figure out where I should place my folders dedicated to their art. The main difference between today's western smut artists and Japan's is, Japanese artists tend to go to doujin fairs and sell their manga. But there are also some Asian artists comfortable with guro that have their stuff placed in art galleries. I can imagine most people here just sort their guro into categories like "cannibalism, hard vore, eye gouging, space vac" etc. But I'm just not like that. If there's a western artist that's been drawing guro for more than a year, I always do extensive research on them to see if they've had an illustration history/drawn physical comics. How come /f/ is all headless/limbless fetishists? I remember /f/reakshow having a little bit more variety. Any thread that isn't about limb edits just sinks to the bottom of the board, never to be seen again unless someone bumps it once in a blue moon, just for it sink again.

As it is now, it takes long time to load threads with many replies. The software GUROchan is using has a feature to page threads, which we would like to hear your opinions about.

It has been added to /g/ as a trial. This feature significantly decreases the loading times, but also comes with hassle of having to change pages in threads every so often, as this makes it impossible to view all posts at once on threads larger threads.

So please go to /g/, check the feature out, and tell us if you would like this site-wide implemented or not implemented at all.

We all know Reddit stole this site's userbase, and holocausted every other internet forum in existence. But the thing is, everything on r/guro is clean smut. Everything that gets posted there is poorly detailed ryona art and beheadings with no blood. /f/ in its prime was magical, where did that's board userbase scamper off to? I think some of /fur/'s audience might be apart of the Fluffy community. If I had to guess, every other board's userbase is creeping around some fic/RP sites or *shivers*, discord servers.

On top of general scat being rarely discussed on /fur/, it seems to be a persisting sub-topic for the board. Maybe if the rule was relaxed for there, there would be a little more usual activity and gathering more art that might be niche or lost in time in most places.

**So the question is, what do you think?**

On one hand, Armie seems like there's no way he wouldn't know about guro, ryona, dolcett, and other related "genres" of fictional content. Armie's primary interests are very close to this, even if he doesn't *very literally* fantasize about cutting girls in half or whatnot.

On the other hand, the guy's a playboy. He comes from a rich family, he's decently attractive, he's able to sweet-talk multiple girls into all of this (how does he even have the time lol), he clearly has very good social skills. Why? The main reason why I like imageboards is the anonimity and being able to just shit out your opinion based on the logic of your arguments, or if available evidence as well. This upboats system feels to me like it's going to just make people base their arguments and opinions on the hivemind, instead of what they actually feel about the topic at hand. You may say the following;

You may not know who voted or not, but a VISIBLE identity around these upboats will form. People will start changing their posting habits to get these upboats or risk being sagebombed or have their thread ignored. Having a visible marker, or gauge of the "community's stance" on a topic just seems antithetical to the concept of being able to post anonymously to me. Those are just my 2cents.

IIRC, in the old gurochan they were sorted by bump date. This seemed to make more sense.

2 things I've noticed.

1. It seems only about 4000 characters can by accepted by the message box. This is painfully restrictive for uploading stories. Even one chapter has to be broken into many posts.

2. So in the threads, I see something like '57 posts omitted. Click Reply to view.' But there is no 'reply' button anywhere! Instead you have to click the title or post no.

I'm not sure why /lit/ has a different look and layout than /g/ for instance.

Seems to be a typical conversion problem with int32/int64/float. As far as I see it, the image numbers were truncated, e.g. 1612525308027.jpg to 1612525308.jpg, which is hinting at int32 (1,612,525,308). The images that work seems to be cleanly truncated, while the missing images were rounded in some way, e.g. 1612524931999.jpg to 1612524932.jpg.

And guess what? The cleanly truncated image is still there, the given number is the start image of the 3Dhanging thread in 3dcg, which is broken in the post.

So, I have always assumed that loli guro/snuff (age 12 or under) is different from non-violent age play and pedophilia. That's because snuff fantasies are about power exchange and are formed when you are a young child. They can materialize in many ways that overlap with other sexual fantasies and interests you don't generally find exciting. You can't assume much from someone's snuff fantasies.
