    I hadn’t checked in on all of you in a while and I was hoping that our little community had found acceptance somewhere in this chaos. It warms my heart to see that despite adversity we are able to grow together and stand boldly!     Will creating a mastodon instance help the development of Gurochan
    community? Some points:

    - For image posting: comparing to split posts into boards and threads,
    tag systems are more flexible and better for search(like image
    posts)

    - For discussion: lighter than creating a thread, users may be more
    willing to express their ideas by toots without disturbing others.

    - Popularity: mastodon itself is kinda popular, and a default modern
    web frontend may better attract new users.

    Gorechan 404's when you click on the URL listed on the front page, and it's paired up with the other boards like the loli site is. Failed experiment, or maybe it was taken down because of the risk of getting v&? Or maybe it was because some of gurochan's userbase were complaining about the obscenities being displayed on this gore fetish imageboard? Personally I found the place to have a bit of charm to it, like the old ogrish forums. I like being able to discuss real gore without race flaming, people screaming about how "I don't bat an eye when an adult dies, but god forbid a puppy or a child dies in an accident, I'll DDOS this fucking site!" and powertripping admins of course. If it was taken down for that aforementioned reason, then it's a shame, but understandable, since the board wasn't getting many PPD and seemed like it wasn't worth the controversy.

    I think GOREchan might've been one of its kind, as an imageboard used solely for gore. Most gore forums, both deep web and 'clearnet', are used mostly by people that like gore content for "shock value", so no one here would really fit in. These days, a lot of gore forum users have moved off shore to private telegram groups, and FTP servers. I'm not aware of any good ones myself, and I haven't really been involved in any IRL gore groups since the vast majority of new gore videos are redundant, and of low quality; usually portrait mode phone videos of Brazilian gang violence, surgery videos, and first-hand journalism of war and other similar tragedy.
